Río Anón is one of 13 rivers in the municipality of Ponce and, at 1,060 feet, it is also the third with the highest river mouth location, after Río Prieto and Río Blanco, both of which have their mouths at 1,381 feet . The river has a discharge of 24,000 cubic feet per second, making it the second most affluent river in the municipality after Rio Jacaguas.
