Lake Vidraru

Lake Vidraru is an artificial lake in Romania. It was created in 1965 by the construction of the Vidraru Dam on the Argeş River. It lies in the shadow of the Făgăraş Mountains. A village lies submerged at the bottom of this lake. Vidraru Lake is a lake, with 465 million cubic metres of water, with a length of 10.3 km and a width of 2.2 km, thus accumulating a total area of 870 hectares and maximum depth of 155 metres.

The Cathedral of Curtea de Argeș (early 16th century) is a church in Curtea de Argeș, Romania, located in the grounds of a monastery. It is dedicated to Saint Nicholas. It resembles a very large and elaborate mausoleum, built in Byzantine style, with Moorish arabesques. In shape it is oblong, with a many-sided annex at the back. In the centre rises a dome, fronted by two smaller cupolas, while a secondary dome, broader and loftier than the central one, springs from the annex.

Capela Hill (Dealul Capela in Romanian) is a hill in the western part of the Romanian town of Râmnicu Vâlcea. Its name is most likely derived from a now-destroyed Catholic chapel built in the area during the Habsburg takeover of Oltenia in the first half of the 18th century. Part of the Southern Carpathians foothills, Capela Hill descends from an altitude of over 500 meters to the Olt River (at over 200 meters), creating a sloping valley on which most of the town of Râmnicu Vâlcea is built.
