Rauna Castle ruins are located in the village of Rauna, in Cēsis District, Latvia. The castle was the principal residence of the Archbishopric of Riga in which at for certain period each year it was visited the Archbishop with his entourage. During the 16th century, it was greatly expanded and a settlement developed around the castle, and in the 17th century it was degraded, although the towers and parts of the castle remained.
