Aarhus County

Aarhus County or Århus County is a former county in central Denmark on the Jutland peninsula. The county was abolished effective 1 January 2007, when almost all of it merged into Region Midtjylland (i.e. Region Central Jutland). A very small portion was merged into Region Nordjylland (Region North Jutland). At the time of closure, more than 20,000 people worked for the county.

Aarhus Theatre

The Aarhus Theatre (Aarhus Teater) in Aarhus is the largest provincial theatre in Denmark. The present theatre house constructed in the late 19th century as a replacement for the old theatre, nicknamed "Svedekassen". Since Aarhus had grown to be Jutland's biggest city during the 19th century, the old theatre had become too small for the public. The new building was designed by the Danish architect Hack Kampmann (1856–1920), and the construction began on 12 August 1898.

Aarhus City Hall

Aarhus City Hall is the city hall of Aarhus, Denmark. It was inaugurated 2 June 1941, and it was drawn by architects Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller. The decision to build a city hall was taken during a city hall meeting in 1937. As one of just a few Danish city halls it was marked for preservation in March 1994 because of its unique architecture. On the first proposal the plans did not include a tower but due to massive public pressure it was later added to the drawings.

The Old Town, Aarhus

The Old Town in Aarhus, Denmark (Danish: Den Gamle By), is an open-air town museum consisting of 75 historical buildings collected from 20 townships in all parts of the country. Aarhus Festuge

Aarhus Festuge (Aarhus Festival) is a yearly arts and culture festival in the city of Aarhus, Denmark. The festival was established in 1964, debuted in 1965 and has since then become one of the largest themed festivals in northern Europe.
