The Bahamas
The Bahamas Listen/bəˈhɑːməz/, officially the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, is a country consisting of more than 3,000 islands, cays and islets in the Atlantic Ocean, north of Cuba and Hispaniola, northwest of the Turks and Caicos Islands, southeast of the U.S. state of Florida and east of the Florida Keys. Its capital is Nassau on the island of New Providence. Geographically, the Bahamas lie near to Cuba, which is part of the Greater Antilles, along with Hispaniola and Jamaica.
Paradise Island
Paradise Island is an island in the Bahamas formerly known as Hog Island. The island, with an area of 685 acres (1.1 sq mi/2.8 km), is located just off the shore of the city of Nassau, which is itself located on the northern edge of the island of New Providence. It is best known for the sprawling resort Atlantis. Paradise Island is connected to the island of New Providence by two bridges that cross Nassau Harbour.
Atlantis Paradise Island
The Atlantis Paradise Island is a resort and waterpark located on Paradise Island, The Bahamas. Officially opened in 1998, the resort was created by South African hotel magnate Sol Kerzner and Kerzner International Limited. Paradise Island first opened its Coral and Beach Towers as the Trump Plaza, then changed its name to Atlantis when the Royal Towers were built. The Coral and Beach Towers were later refurbished to match the theme of the Royal Towers.

The Cove Atlantis
The Cove Atlantis is an all-suite hotel at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort. It is one of the resort's hotel towers, alongside the Royal Towers, the Beach Tower, the 3 Coral towers and a residences hotel tower, called "The Reef Atlantis". A small part of the property was once occupied by the former mini golf course and some tennis courts.
Athol Island
Athol Island is a small island in the Bahamas, which lies three-quarters of a mile east of Paradise Island, which lies directly off of New Providence island. The island is uninhabited. The island runs two miles west to east. The island is part of the National Marine Park. The nearby waters of the island are often used for snorkeling.
Capture of the Bahamas (1783)
The Capture of the Bahamas took place in April 1783, late in the American War of Independence, when a Loyalist expedition under the command of Andrew Deveaux set out to retake the Bahamas from the Spanish. The expedition was successful and Nassau fell without a shot being fired. It was one of the last actions of the entire war.
