Tom Price, situated in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, is an industrial town. The town is located inland, at the edge of the Hamersley Range. Tom Price is the highest town above sea level (747 m) in Western Australia, and is consequently dubbed "Top Town in WA".
Shire of Ashburton
The Shire of Ashburton is one of the four local government areas in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, covering an area of 105,647 square kilometres . The Shire's seat of government is the town of Tom Price. It has a population of about 10,000 (August 2011), most of whom live in the mining towns. Most of the land in Ashburton is taken up by pastoral leases. Other industries important to Ashburton include iron ore mining, oil, natural gas, fishing and tourism.
Tom Price Senior High School
Tom Price Senior High School is a comprehensive public high school located in Tom Price, a regional centre 1,092 kilometres north east of Perth, Western Australia. The school was established in 1971 and by 2012 had an enrolment of 246 students between Year 8 and Year 12, approximately 23% of whom were Aboriginal. Opening as a district high school in 1971 catering for Year 1 to 10 and with an enrolment of 700 students, the school became a senior high school in 1995.
