Woomera, South Australia

Woomera 'village' (as it is has been historically referred to) is a small, and remote, Australian Defence Force (ADF) base servicing the RAAF Woomera Test Range. The 'base' is unusual in that it is open public access. Between 1947 and 1982, it was a completely 'closed' facility. Like the RAAF's Point Cook base in Victoria, Woomera has a significant history.
