Puyallup, Washington

Puyallup, Washington is a city in Pierce County, Washington about five miles (8 km) east of Tacoma. The population was 37,022 at the 2010 Census and the Washington State Office of Financial Management estimated the 2012 population at 37,620. Named after the Puyallup Tribe of Native Americans, Puyallup means "the generous people".

Milton, Washington

Milton is a city in King and Pierce counties in the U.S. state of Washington. The population was 6,968 at the 2010 census. Milton borders the larger but younger town of Edgewood. Milton is the hometown of Jeremy Wuitschick, a 13-year-old pupil who took control of and stopped a school bus in 2012 when its driver appeared to become unresponsive.

Camp Harmony

Camp Harmony was the unofficial name of the Puyallup Assembly Center, a temporary facility within the system of internment camps set up for Japanese Americans during World War II. Approximately 7,390 Americans of Japanese descent in Washington state were sent to the camp before being sent to the Minidoka relocation center near Twin Falls, Idaho. Camp Harmony was established in May 1942 shortly after the bombing attack on Pearl Harbor.

Puyallup Fair

The Puyallup Fair is the largest single attraction held annually in the state of Washington. The fair continually ranks in the top ten largest fairs in the United States. The Western Washington Fair Association hosts two annual events: the 17-day Puyallup Fair every September, and the four-day Puyallup Spring Fair every April.

Chief Leschi School

Chief Leschi School is a Native American tribal school located in the Puyallup Valley near Mount Rainier in Washington. It is a 200,000-square-foot facility which is intended to be a model for Native American Education. It opened in 1996 serving Native American students from 92 different tribes in which the Puyallup Tribe of Indians constructed. They have Middle school and High school sports teams, called the Warriors.

The Daffodil Festival

The Daffodil Festival is a regional festival and royalty leadership program. The Grand Floral Parade is held in Pierce County, Washington every April. It consists of a flower parade and a year-long royalty program to select a festival queen from one of the 24 area high schools. Each year, the Royal Court spend thousands of hours promoting education, community pride and volunteerism in the county.

Puyallup (Sounder station)

The Puyallup Station is a Sounder commuter rail station serving the city of Puyallup, Washington. It was built by Sound Transit along BNSF Railway tracks, completed in 2001. The station is also served by ST Express and Pierce Transit buses.
