The 1984 Rajneeshee bioterror attack was the food poisoning of 751 individuals in The Dalles, Oregon, United States, through the deliberate contamination of salad bars at ten local restaurants with salmonella. A leading group of followers of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (later known as Osho) had hoped to incapacitate the voting population of the city so that their own candidates would win the 1984 Wasco County elections.

Pulpit Rock is a rock about 12 feet tall located in The Dalles, Oregon, United States. Prior to Euro-American settlement the rock was carved by natural elements in an open area on a slight slope. Historically the rock was located near the Methodist Mission's Wascopam Mission. The missionaries were known to preach to the local Native Americans during the 1830s and 1840s from this rock.

Sorosis Park is municipal park in The Dalles, Oregon, United States. The 45 acres in size and has picnic tables, shelter, bbq pit, softball fields, tennis courts, a playground, disc golf course, and a running trail (8/10 mile). The park is also known for a number of large Ponderosa Pines. The park was formed by an early women's club, the Soroptomist Sisters Sorosis. Sorosis from Greek means "a multiple fruit formed from many flowers".
