Kentfield, California
Kentfield (formerly Ross Landing, Tamalpais, and Kent) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Marin County, California, United States, just north of San Francisco. Kentfield is located on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad 2 miles southwest of downtown San Rafael, at an elevation of 115 feet (35 m). The population was 6,485 at the 2010 census. The ZIP code is 94904, and is shared with the neighboring community of Greenbrae.
Sir Francis Drake High School
Sir Francis Drake High School is a secondary school located in San Anselmo, California. It was named for English privateer and naval hero Sir Francis Drake, who purportedly landed in the area in 1579. The school's mascot is a pirate named Petey. The school was established in 1951 as the second high school in the Tamalpais Union High School District. It is located at 1327 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, situated on a 21 acre (85,000 m²) campus bordered by two creeks.

Ali Akbar College of Music
The Ali Akbar College of Music is the name of three schools founded by Indian musician Ali Akbar Khan to teach Indian classical music. The first was founded in 1956 in Calcutta, India. The second was founded in 1967 in Berkeley, California, but moved to its current location in San Rafael, California the next year. The third was founded in 1985 in Basel, Switzerland and is run by Khan's disciple Ken Zuckerman.

San Francisco Theological Seminary is a graduate school affiliated with Presbyterian Church (U.S.A. ) located in San Anselmo, California. SFTS was the founding member of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, the largest consortium of graduate schools and seminaries in the United States.
Barn Theatre
The Barn Theatre is the home of the Ross Valley Players, the oldest continually-operating community theater group on the West Coast. Located in Ross, California, the Barn Theatre was converted from a barn in the 1930s to a theatre. The Ross Valley Players is located on the grounds of the Marin Art & Garden Center. Each season, running from September through August, includes six plays in full production, a Holiday Show in December and two Festivals.
The Branson School
The Branson School in Ross, California, is a private, co-educational, college-preparatory day school with 320 students enrolled in grades 9 through 12. Notable alumni include Julia Child (and her sister), Tony Hsieh (CEO of Zappos), Jonny Moseley (Olympic skiier), and Jennifer Siebel. Edie Sedgwick, the 1960s underground superstar, briefly attended the school also.
Rancho Punta de Quentin
Rancho Punta de Quentin was a 8,877-acre Mexican land grant in present day Marin County, California given in 1840 by Governor Juan B. Alvarado to John B.R. Cooper. The grant comprised not only the San Quentin peninsula, but also present day Ross, Kentfield and part of San Anselmo.
