Alfred Nobel
Alfred Bernhard Nobel (21 October 1833 – 10 December 1896) was a Swedish chemist, engineer, innovator, and armaments manufacturer. He was the inventor of dynamite. Nobel also owned Bofors, which he had redirected from its previous role as primarily an iron and steel producer to a major manufacturer of cannon and other armaments. Nobel held 350 different patents, dynamite being the most famous. He used his fortune to posthumously institute the Nobel Prizes.
Karolinska Institutet
Karolinska institutet (often translated from Swedish into English as the Karolinska Institute, the -et being a definite article, and in older texts often as the Royal Caroline Institute) is a medical university in Solna within the Stockholm urban area, Sweden, and one of Europe's largest and most prestigious medical universities. It was founded in 1810 on Kungsholmen on the west side of Stockholm; the main campus was relocated decades later to Solna, just outside Stockholm.

Vasastan, Stockholm
Vasastaden, or colloquially Vasastan, (Swedish for "Vasa City") is a 3.00 km² large city district in central Stockholm, Sweden. With 51,661 inhabitants it is the second most populous, as well as the second most densely populated (17,220/km²) district in Stockholm. The major parks in Vasastaden are Vasaparken and Observatorielunden near the centre and Vanadislunden and Bellevueparken in the north.
Frescati (Stockholm)
Frescati is a park-like area on the northern outskirts of Stockholm. The name has occasionally been spelled Freskati, e.g. on the name signs at the former Freskati railway station. Originally Frescati was a part of Norra Djurgården (The Northern Royal Game Park) but was granted to the societé for building private villas. The origin of the name is the Villa Frescati, built by the architect Louis Jean Desprez for Gustaf Mauritz Armfelt in 1791-1792.
Haga trädgård
Haga Trädgård is located in the northern end of Hagaparken, Solna, Sweden. Haga Trädgård was founded by King Gustav III in the 1785. It was intended that it should become the kitchen garden to the royal household. At the time Gustav III had plans to build a very large palace just 300m from Haga Tradgard but eventually due to lack of available finance the palace was never built.
Bergianska trädgården
The Bergianska trädgården, the Bergian Garden or Hortus Bergianus, is a botanical garden located in the Frescati area on the outskirts of Stockholm, close to the Swedish Museum of Natural History and the main campus of Stockholm University. The director of the garden is known as Professor Bergianus.
Hagaparken
Hagaparken ("Haga Park"), or simply Haga in Solna Municipality just north of Stockholm, Sweden is a vast and popular nature area, with large parks, lakes, woods and gardens. Within the park is Haga Palace, King Gustav III's Pavilion, the Chinese Pavilion, the Echo Temple, an older castle ruin (which is not really a ruin as it is the remains of a castle never finished) and several other interesting buildings on the grounds (as the peculiar Copper Tents and also the Butterfly House).

Wenner-Gren Center
Wenner-Gren Center is a tower and building complex in Vasastaden, Stockholm, Sweden. The building was constructed 1959–1961, and opened in 1962. The Center consists of three buildings named Helicon, Pylon and Tetragon. Pylon is a high tower, Helicon is a lower semicircular part surrounding the tower, and Tetragon is a box-shaped building next to the tower.
Stallmästaregården
Stallmästaregården (or Stallmästargården) is a historic inn adjacent to the park around the Royal Pavilion at Haga in Solna, just north of the Stockholm city limits. It has existed since the 17th century, and is mentioned numerous times in the works of August Strindberg.
Gustav III's Pavilion
Gustav III's Pavilion is a royal pavilion at the Haga Park, 2 km north of Stockholm. As a highlight in Swedish art history, the Pavilion is a fine example of the European neoclassicism of the late 18th century in Northern Europe. Beside the Pavilion lie the "Sultan's Copper Tents", buildings designed to resemble big tents.
Haga Palace
Haga Palace, formerly known as the Queen's Pavilion, is located in Hagaparken, Solna Municipality in Metropolitan Stockholm, Sweden. The palace, built in 1802 – 1805, was modelled after ballet-master Gallodiers Italian villa in Drottningholm by architect Carl Christoffer Gjörwell on appointment by King Gustaf IV Adolf for the royal children.
Ålkistan
Ålkistan is the name of a canal, and the surrounding area, north of Stockholm, Sweden. The canal connects Lake Värtan to Lake Brunnsviken, and delimits Bergshamra, the northern part of Solna, from the northern part of Djurgården. The name Ålkistan first appears on a map of Djurgården dated 1649, pointing out Åhlekijstetorpet ("The Eel Hatch Cottage"), Åhlekijstebackan ("The Eel Hatch Hillside") and Åhlekijste wijken ("The Eel Hatch Bay").
Solnabron
Solnabron is a viaduct in Sweden. Spanning the Norra Station area and the Norra länken motorway, it links the municipalities of Stockholm and Solna. When inaugurated in 1942, the bridge opened an important new connection between the two municipalities, just as the hospital and scientific institutions were being collocated with what is today the Karolinska University Hospital, to the north of the bridge.
Norra länken
Norra länken (The northern link) is a motorway in Stockholm, Sweden, between Norrtull and Karlberg, where it connects to Essingeleden. The road is part of European route E4 and E20 and the incomplete Stockholm ring road. As of 2007 Norra länken is only 1 kilometre in length, but an eastward extension from Norrtull to Värta harbour (Värtahamnen) for a total length of 5 kilometres is under construction which is estimated to be complete by 2015.
Kungliga begravningsplatsen
Kungliga begravningsplatsen (translates as the Royal Cemetery) was first used in 1922 and has been the only official burial place of the Swedish Royal Family since 1950, replacing Riddarholmen Church. It is located on the small island of Karlsborg in the bay of Brunnsviken; the whole cemetery is a part of the popular Haga Park in Solna, Sweden.
Solna Church
Solna kyrka is a so-called round church in the borough Solna in Stockholm, Sweden. The church is located on the headland between Brunnsviken and Ulvsundasjön, at the southern end of the cemetery Norra begravningsplatsen. The oldest parts of the church are from the later 12th century, a Romanesque fortress church built in stone. Today the church consists of a roundhouse, weaponhouse, choir, nave, sacristy, and two grave choirs.
New Karolinska Solna University Hospital
The New Karolinska Solna University Hospital (NKS) (Swedish: Nya Karolinska Solna), is the new university hospital to be built in Stockholm, Sweden, replacing the present Karolinska University Hospital. Estimated completion is December 2015. NKS is also Sweden's first public-private partnership (PPP) project in healthcare.
Thor's Towers
Thor's Towers are two skyscrapers (twin towers) planned for construction in Stockholm, Sweden. Once completed, the towers will reach 140 m in height, which will make them the third tallest buildings in Sweden. The decision to build the towers was made in 2009.
Haga Echo Temple
The Haga Echo Temple was built in 1790 as a summer dining room for Gustav III who loved to dine outdoors. It is situated in Hagaparken in Solna just north of Stockholm. The architect was Carl Christoffer Gjörwell.
Scandinavian Airlines head office
The former Scandinavian Airlines/SAS Group head office is a building in Frösundavik, Solna Municipality, Sweden, north of Stockholm. The SAS head office is now currently located in a different building on the property of Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sigtuna Municipality.
Bellevue (Stockholm)
Bellevue is a park in northern Stockholm and part of the Ekoparken. Located in Bellevue is the studio of the famous sculptor Carl Eldh (1873 - 1954), today a museum: "Carl Eldh Ateljémuseum". There is also a statue of August Strindberg by Carl Eldh in the park.

Stockholm North Station
Stockholm North Station or Stockholm N has been the name of two different railway stations in Stockholm, Sweden. Both have been used mostly for freight trains and not for passenger traffic. The first North Station was opened on 20 September 1866. It was situated at Norra Bantorget ("North Line Square"), a square which got its name from this. In 1925 the station was moved to Norrtull, where a new North Station was built at the railway line Värtabanan. This station was in use until the 1990s.
