Saaremaa
Saaremaa is the largest island in Estonia, measuring 2,673 km². The main island of Saare County, it is located in the Baltic Sea, south of Hiiumaa island, and belongs to the West Estonian Archipelago. The capital of the island is Kuressaare, which has about 15,000 inhabitants; the whole island has over 39,000 inhabitants.
Asta (air base)
Asta was a Soviet air base in Estonia located near the town of Aste, 12 km north of Kuressaare. It is on Saaremaa Island, and was listed on the 1974 Department of Defense Global Navigation Chart No. 3 as having jet facilities. It was probably a front-line interceptor or dispersal base. In the 1980s or 1990s it was plowed under. Very little of the base remains.

Tõru
TORU system is a manual docking system of Russian Soyuz and Progress spacecraft that serves as a backup to the automatic Kurs system http://www. hightechscience. org/toru. htm. It was used on the former Mir and Salyut space stations and is currently in use on the International Space Station. The TORU system became known to the public in 1997 when it was used during the manual approach of Progress M-34 to Mir that ended up with a dangerous collision.
