OMAR Mine Museum

Located in Kabul, Afghanistan, the OMAR Mine Museum contains a collection of 51 types of land mines out of the 53 used in Afghanistan over the years. Kabul International Airport

Kabul International Airport, also known as Khwaja Rawash Airport by the Pashtun majority (Pashto: د خواجه رواش هوایي ډګر‎), is located 16 kilometers from the city center of Kabul in Afghanistan. Axe Kabul International Airport was built in the early 1960s. During the 10 year Soviet war in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989, the airport was controlled and used by the Soviet Army. Following the Soviet withdrawal it remained in control of the Afghan military, which transformed to private militia.

Salt Pit

The Salt Pit is the codename of an isolated clandestine CIA black site prison and interrogation center in Afghanistan. It is located north of Kabul and was the location of a brick factory prior to the Afghanistan War. The CIA adapted it for extrajudicial detention. In the winter of 2005, the "Salt Pit" became known to the general public because of two incidents.

Ghazi Stadium

Ghazi Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kabul, Afghanistan,used to play soccer. It was built during the reign of King Amanullah Khan in 1923, who was regarded as Ghazi (Hero) for the Afghan victory in the Third Anglo-Afghan War and gaining independence for his nation after the 1919 Treaty of Rawalpindi. The stadium has a capacity of 25,000 people. The Ghazi Stadium was renovated in 2011 after the entire ground was removed and replaced with new soil and artificial turf placed on top.

Pul-e-Charkhi prison

Pul-e-Charkhi, also known as Afghan National Detention Facility, is the largest prison in Afghanistan east of Kabul. Construction of the jail began in the 1970s by order of former president Mohammed Daoud Khan and was completed during the 1980s. The prison became notorious for torture and executions after the 1978 Saur Revolution as well as during the 10 year Soviet war that followed.

Bala Hissar, Kabul

Bala Hissar is an ancient fortress located in the city of Kabul, Afghanistan. The estimated date of construction is around the 5th century A.D. Bala Hissar sits to the south of the modern city centre at the tail end of the Kuh-e-Sherdarwaza Mountain. The Walls of Kabul, which are 20 feet high and 12 feet thick, start at the fortress and follow the mountain ridge in a sweeping curve down to the river. It sports a set of gates for access to the fortress.
