Fort Steilacoom Park

Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, Washington is the largest park in the city. The 340-acre park includes Waughop Lake, an off-leash dog park, and several soccer fields and baseball fields. It is adjacent to Pierce College, historic Fort Steilacoom, and Western State Hospital. The area became a homesteader's farm circa 1844, then became Fort Steilacoom in 1849. In 1868, the government purchased it for use as the "Insane Asylum for Washington Territory".

Thornewood

Thornewood is an estate in Lakewood, Washington. The estate consists of three buildings, including Thornewood Castle, which was built from the brick of a dismantled 15th century house imported from England. The Castle was used as a set for the Stephen King film Rose Red. The buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is now a bed and breakfast. Clover Creek (Washington)

Clover Creek is a creek in Pierce County, Washington. Clover Creek rises near Frederickson, flows through Spanaway and Parkland, is diverted under the main runway of McChord Air Force Base and Interstate 5, and into Lakewood, where it spills into Lake Steilacoom. Its drainage basin is 74 square miles . The creek is 13.8 miles long. Clover Creek was the traditional home of the Sastuck band of the Steilacoom Tribe of Indians.

Rhodesleigh

Rhodesleigh, also known as the Rhodes Mansion, is a historic residence in Lakewood, Washington. Architects involved in its design included Ambrose J. Russell and Frederick Heath. The house is located at 10815 Greendale Drive, built in 1922. The Rhodes Brothers were involved in the retail trade and had Rhodes department stores in Tacoma and other areas. The business was established in 1892 as a coffee shop in downtown Tacoma by Albert, William, Henry, and Charles Rhodes.

American Lake

American Lake is located in Lakewood, Washington and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. There are two public parks on the large lake: American Lake North Park & Marina, and Harry Todd Park. Gravelly Lake

Gravelly Lake is a lake located in Lakewood in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The lake is fed by groundwater and has no surface drainage channels. The lake is surrounded by higher-priced homes and estates. Called Cook‑al‑chy (pond lily) by the native people, the lake was named Gravelly Lake due to the gravel-covered lake bed. The lake has two legal public access points, both of which are overgrown and are not viable for boat access.
