Berry Botanic Garden was a botanical garden in southwest Portland, Oregon, in the United States. In addition to large collections of alpine plants, rhododendrons, primulas, lilies, it was known for its plant-conservation program and its large seed bank that protects rare or endangered plants of the Pacific Northwest. The seed bank, formally established in 1983, was thought to be the first in the U.S. that was devoted entirely to preserving rare native plants.

Johnson Creek Park

Located at Southeast 21st Avenue and Clatsop Street, the park takes its name from Johnson Creek, which flows through the park. The creek is named for William Johnson, who settled upstream from the park in what is now Portland's Lents neighborhood, where he operated a sawmill in the mid-19th century.
Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge
Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge is a city park of about 141 acres in southeast Portland, in the U.S. state of Oregon. Located in a floodplain along the east bank of the Willamette River near Sellwood, the park is known for attracting a wide variety of birds. In 1988, the park was named Portland's first wildlife refuge, and in 2004, it was designated the city's first migratory bird park.

Located at Southeast Spokane Street and Oaks Parkway, the park has paths, picnic tables, a stage, a boat dock on the Willamette River, restrooms, and a dog off-leash area. Formerly a mill site overgrown with Himalayan blackberries, the south half of the park includes a parking lot, the boat launches, and a large grassy area suitable for picnics and lawn games.
Sellwood Park

Located at Southeast Seventh Avenue and Miller Street, the park includes courts for tennis and basketball; fields for soccer, baseball, softball, and football; picnic areas; a horseshoe pit; a playground; paved and unpaved paths, and restrooms. The Springwater Corridor trail runs north–south along the west side of the park between it and Sellwood Riverfront Park and Oaks Amusement Park.

Lot Whitcomb
Lot Whitcomb (April 24, 1807 – March 31, 1857) was a mid-19th-century entrepreneur who built the first steamship on the Willamette River in the U.S. state of Oregon. Born in Vermont, he moved to Michigan and then to Illinois, where he served in the Illinois House of Representatives. Emigrating to Oregon in 1847, he settled on a donation land claim, built a sawmill and gristmill, and founded the town of Milwaukie in 1848.
