Odessa

Odessa, or Odesa, is the third largest city in Ukraine, with a population of 1,003,705. Potemkin Stairs

Vorontsov Palace (Odessa)

The Vorontsov Palace is a 19th century palace and colonnade in Odessa, Ukraine, at the end of the Primorsky Boulevard pedestrian walkway. The buildings were built between 1827 to 1830 by the Sardinian-born architect Francesco Boffo for Prince Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov, one of the governor-generals of the Odessa region. Privoz Market

The famous Privoz market, located at 14 Privoz Street, is the largest food market in Odessa, Ukraine. Privoz began in 1827, when wares were sold from the back of horse driven carts. Privoz adjoined the Stary (old) bazaar (also called the Volny market) the first bazaar in Odessa. Gradually more buildings were constructed as the city grew. In the 1940s zoo animals were moved from the Odessa zoo to Simferopol. Four year old elephant Murza (Мурза) escaped.

Chornomorets Stadium

Chornomorets Stadium is a stadium built in 2011 in Odessa, Ukraine. It was constructed on the site of the old Soviet Central Stadium of the Black Sea Shipping Company (ChMP), which was demolished in 2009. The stadium has a capacity of 34,164 and is the home of FC Chornomorets Odesa. The inaugural match, between FC Chornomorets Odesa and FC Karpaty Lviv, was played on November 19, 2011, and ended with a 2–2 draw. The first goal was scored by Vitaliy Balashov in the 46th minute from penalty.

Sukhyi Liman

Sukhyi Estuary, or Sukhyi Liman (Ukrainian: Сухий лиман - dried estuary), is on open estuary in the north-western Black Sea, near the cities of Odessa and Illichivsk, Ukraine. In 1957 the estuary was connected to the sea via 14-m depth navigation canal, therefore the water body de facto transformed to the marine bay. Upper site of the estuary is more shallow, up to 1.5 m depth. Northern and western parts are separated by artificial dam and transformed to fresh water ponds.
