Odessa
Odessa, or Odesa, is the third largest city in Ukraine, with a population of 1,003,705. The city is a major seaport located on the northwestern shore of the Black Sea and the administrative center of the Odessa Oblast. The predecessor of Odessa, a small Tatar settlement, was founded by Hacı I Giray, the Khan of Crimea, in 1440 and originally named after him as "Hacıbey".

Deribasovskaya Street
Deribasovskaya or Derybasivska Street is a pedestrian walkway in the heart of Odessa, Ukraine. The street is named after Josep de Ribas, who helped build the city, who was its first mayor and who lived on the street. Next to the street is Odessa's first park, which was built shortly after the foundation of the city in 1803 by the De Ribas brothers, Joseph and Felix (Josep and Fèlix).
Privoz Market
The famous Privoz market, located at 14 Privoz Street, is the largest food market in Odessa, Ukraine. Privoz began in 1827, when wares were sold from the back of horse driven carts. Privoz adjoined the Stary (old) bazaar (also called the Volny market) the first bazaar in Odessa. Gradually more buildings were constructed as the city grew. In the 1940s zoo animals were moved from the Odessa zoo to Simferopol. Four year old elephant Murza (Мурза) escaped.

Bristol Hotel, Odessa
Bristol Hotel is a hotel in Odessa, Ukraine. Built between 1898 and 1899 to designs by Alexander Bernadazzi and Adolf Minkus, it is located in the center of the city, on Pushkinskaya Street, across the street from the Odessa Philharmonic Theater. The hotel is a combined renaissance and baroque style. The building has Baroque classical statues and marble white columns facing the boulevard. The hotel has 113 rooms and is one of the notable landmarks of the city.

Odessa Passage is a passage and a hotel on Deribasovskaya Street in the centre of Odessa. It has 4floors. On the ground floor there are many boutiqs and on other 3floors there is a hotel. Odessa Passage was built at the end of the 19th century and was the best hotel in Southern Russia until the Krasnaya Hotel was openned. An interior and the exterior of Passage building are decorated by numerous sculptures. The Passage houses multiple shops, restaurants, offices and economy hotel “Passage”.
Odessa Railway Station
Odessa Railway Station (Ukrainian: Одеський залізничний вокзал) is the main railway station in Odessa in southern Ukraine. It was built in the second half of the 19th century. It was damaged in 1944 during World War II and was rebuilt in 1952. It is situated in the city centre of Odessa.
Odessa Cathedral
The Odessa Orthodox Cathedral is dedicated to the Saviour's Transfiguration and belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). The first and foremost church in the city of Odessa, the cathedral was founded in 1794 by Gavril Bănulescu-Bodoni. Construction lagged several years behind schedule when the newly appointed governor of New Russia, Armand-Emmanuel de Vignerot du Plessis, Duc de Richelieu, employed the Italian architect Francesco Frappoli to complete the edifice.
Battle of Odessa (1914)
For the battle at Odessa in 1941 see Siege of Odessa (1941). The Battle of Odessa was an Ottoman naval attack against the Russian held port of Odessa, Ukraine in October 1914. At the time of battle the Ottoman Navy had just launched a major raid into the Black Sea to destroy the Russian Black Sea Fleet and to attack targets on land. In response to the raid Russia declared war on the Ottomans on November 1, 1914.
Al-Salam Mosque, Odessa
