Kartlis Deda
Kartlis Deda is a monument in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, which has become a symbol of the city. The statue was erected on the top of Sololaki hill in 1958, the year Tbilisi celebrated its 1500th anniversary. Prominent Georgian sculptor Elguja Amashukeli designed the twenty-metre aluminum figure of a woman in Georgian national dress.
Rustaveli Avenue
Rustaveli Avenue (Georgian: რუსთაველის გამზირი, Rust'avelis Gamziri), formerly known as Golovin Street, is an avenue in central Tbilisi named after the medieval Georgian poet, Shota Rustaveli. The Avenue starts at Freedom Square and extends for about 1.5 km in length, before it turns into an extension of Kostavas Kucha (Kostava Street).
Mtatsminda Pantheon
The Mtatsminda Pantheon of Writers and Public Figures (Georgian: მთაწმინდის მწერალთა და საზოგადო მოღვაწეთა პანთეონი) is a necropolis in Tbilisi, Georgia, where some of the most prominent writers, artists, scholars, and national heroes of Georgia are buried. It is located in the churchyard around St. David’s Church "Mamadaviti" on the slope of Mount Mtatsminda (Geo. მთაწმინდა, meaning the Holy Mountain) and was officially established in 1929.
Lisi Lake
Lisi lake is a small lake in the vicinity of Tbilisi, Georgia; belongs to the Kura River valley, home to a large mixed-use development project by the same name. The landscape is rocky and arid with shrub vegetation and plots of steppe. The lake itself provides a shelter to various waterbirds. In landscapes near the lake, one can watch small reptiles, birds, fox and hare, Mediterranean plant associations.
Turtle Lake (Tbilisi)
Turtle Lake is a direct English translation of Kus Tba, a small lake at the outskirts of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, so named due to the perceived abundance of turtles living in these places. The other, less frequently used name of this lake is K'ork'i (ქორქის ტბა). Turtle Lake is located on the wooded northern slope of Mtatsminda Mount at elevation of 686.7 m above sea level and fed by a small river Varazis-Khevi, a tributary to the Mtkvari (Kura).
Tabakhmela
Tabaxmela (Dry Lake - Tba-Lake, Khmeli-dry) is a village in the Kartli region, in Tbilisi, Georgia. The village is also home to several traditional religious festivals throughout a year, particularly Tamaroba (local celebration of St. King Tamaras day, May 14).
Lower Bethlehemi Church
The Lower Bethlemi Church, also known as the Church of Saint Stepanos of the Holy Virgins (Armenian: Կուսանաց Սուրբ Ստեփանոս վանք) or Koosanats Sourb Stepanos Vank) – is a 14th–19th century church at the foot of Narikala fortress in Old Tbilisi, Georgia. It was rebuilt between 1868 and 1870 and operated as an Armenian church. In 1988 it was given to the Georgian Orthodox and its Armenian identity was "Georgianized" in 1991.
Freedom Square (Tbilisi Metro)
Liberty Square is a station of the Tbilisi metro on the Akhmeteli-Varketili Line. It is located close to Freedom Square at the southern end of Rustaveli avenue. The station was opened on 6 November 1967 as an extension of the original Rustaveli-Didube line. The station was renovated in 2006.
