Nónfjall

Nónfjall is a 367 metre high mountain on the island Vágar in the Faroe Islands, the mountain is located south of the village of Sørvágur, near Vágar Airport and east of the mountain Høgafjall. The name Nónfjall translates to 'Noon mountain'. However, the Faroese use the word noon differently from the current English usage. In the Faroese language noon refers to 15:00 in the 24-hour clock or 3pm in the 12-hour clock, whereas in the English language noon usually now refers to 12:00 or 12pm.

Øravík

Øravík is a village on the east coast of the island of Suðuroy in the Faroe Islands. The village is located in the center of the island on a crossroad where the road to Fámjin goes towards west over the mountains to the west coast. One part of the village is located in the bay of Øravík, the other part is 3 km further north near the ferry port Krambatangi. The northern part of Øravík and the southern part of Trongisvágur have grown together.

Trongisvágsfjørður

Trongisvágsfjørður is a fjord on the island of Suðuroy in the Faroe Islands. There are four villages around the fjord. Furthest east on the northern side of the fjord is Froðba, in the bottom of the fjord is Trongisvágur. In between Trongisvágur and Froðba is Tvøroyri, the largest of these villages. South of Trongisvágur in a bay is Øravík, a part of Øravík is called Øravíkarlíð, it is located close to Trongisvágur and not visible from Øravík. These villages are in the Municipality of Tvøroyri.

Vesturi á Eiðinum Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Vágur, which is one of the larger villages in the southernmost island Suduroy in the Faroe Islands. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FC Suðuroy, formerly called VB Vágur (until 2005) and VB/Sumba (until 31 Dec. 2009). The stadium holds 3,000 people, but has only 330 seats.

Nes, Vágur

Nes is a village on the Faroese island of Suðuroy located in the municipality of Vágur (Vágs kommuna). It is located west of Porkeri and east of Vágur. Its postal code is FO 925. Akraberg

Akraberg is the southern tip of Suðuroy, 5 km south from the village Sumba, Faroe Islands. The name Akraberg derives from akur (cereal field). Five kilometres south of Akraberg is the southernmost point of The Faroe Islands, a rock called Munkurin (The Monk), also called Sumbiarsteinur, which is one of a group of six rocks. This group of rocks are called Flesjarnar. The sound between Suðuroy and Munkurin is notorious for its strong current, it is called Røstin, the poet Poul F.

Vágsfjørður

Vágsfjørður is a fjord on the island of Suðuroy in the Faroe Islands. The fjord is located in the southern part and on the eastern side of the island. The distance between the east and the west coast of Suðuroy is very short from Vágsfjørður to Vágseiði. Between the fjord and Vágseiði is a lake which is called Vatnið (The Lake). There are five villages around the fjord. In the bottom of the fjord is Vágur, which is one of the largest village in Suðuroy.

Beinisvørð

Beinisvørð (Beinisvord) is a 470 m high sea cliff in Suðuroy, Faroe Islands, the highest sea cliff in Suðuroy. It is located between the villages of Lopra and Sumba. Beinisvørð has vertical cliffs facing the sea and a green slope down towards the village of Sumba. The triangular top of Beinisvørð is visible from many places in Suðuroy, including Lopra, Nes and Marknoyri, the easternmost part of Vágur.

Krambatangi

Krambatangi is the ferry port of Suðuroy in the Faroe Islands. The ferry Smyril M/F disembarks 2-3 times daily from Krambatangi to Tórshavn. Krambatangi is located on the southern side of Trongisvágsfjørður halfway between Trongisvágur and Øravík, opposite of Tvøroyri. The ferry port was earlier on Drelnes, which is a few hundred meters further east of Krambatangi. But in 2005 a new ferry arrived, which was much bigger than the prior one, and therefore they built a new ferryport on Krambatangi.

Sumbiarhólmur is an islet in the Faroe Islands, located just outside the village of Sumba, which is the southernmost village in the island Suðuroy. Kirkjuvatn is a lake in Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. The lake is located just north of the village Fámjin, which is located on the west coast of Suðuroy. Fámjin is the only village on the island which is facing directly towards west. Only one other village, Sumba is also located on the west coast, but Sumba is facing south-west. The name of the lake means Church Lake, kirkja means church and vatn means lake in this case, the most common meaning of the word vatn is water.
