Nanzhong
Nanzhong (南中) was an ancient region consisting of modern-day Yunnan, Guizhou, and southern Sichuan in southern China. The region was the homeland of the rebellious Nanman tribes, led by Meng Huo. In 225 AD, the famed statesman Zhuge Liang led three columns into Yunnan to pacify the tribes. His seven captures of Meng Huo is much celebrated in Chinese folklore.
