Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Dartmouth founded in 1750, is a former city and planning area of the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. Located on the eastern shore of Halifax Harbour, Dartmouth has been nicknamed the City of Lakes after the large number of lakes located in the city. On April 1, 1996, the provincial government amalgamated all the municipalities within the boundaries of Halifax County into a single-tier regional government named Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).
Angus L. Macdonald Bridge
The Angus L. Macdonald Bridge, known locally as "the old bridge", is a suspension bridge crossing Halifax Harbour in Nova Scotia, Canada; it opened on April 2, 1955. The bridge is one of two suspension bridges currently linking the Halifax Peninsula to Dartmouth in the Halifax Regional Municipality. It is named after the former premier of Nova Scotia, Angus L. Macdonald, who had died in 1954 and had been instrumental in having the bridge built.
Dartmouth Sportsplex
The Dartmouth Sportsplex is an arena located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It has been home to various junior, senior and minor and high school hockey teams. It co-hosted the 2004 World Women's Hockey Championships with the nearby Halifax Metro Centre. It also hosts occasional trade shows and concerts. The arena is currently home to the Metro Marauders Junior A hockey team. The arena's capacity is 3,000 for hockey. and 3,500 for stage events.
Alderney Landing
Alderney Landing is a convention centre, art gallery, market, and theatre facility in Downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It was opened in May, 1999. The theatre hosts many concerts, conventions and other events, and is also the home of the Eastern Front Theatre.
Nova Scotia Highway 118
Highway 118, in Nova Scotia, is a short suburban freeway connecting (officially) Victoria Road via Woodland Ave. in Dartmouth with Highway 102 at Fall River, 14 kilometres to the north. The highway crosses the Historic Shubenacadie Canal. Running parallel to the highway from the Waverley Road to exit 14 is a portion of the Halifax Lateral of the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline. It also runs along the western shore of Lake Micmac and the western edge of Shubie Park and is known as Lakeview Drive.
Dartmouth High School (Nova Scotia)
Dartmouth High School is a public secondary school located in the Brightwood neighbourhood in the north end of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. Encompassing grades 10 through 12, Dartmouth High School has always had a wide variety of courses, ethnic groups, and options for students. Along with English, the school also offers the French immersion program. Dartmouth High overlooks the Halifax Harbour, which can be seen from about one sixth of the rooms in the building.

Halifax Harbour Bridges is the operating name of a Nova Scotia provincial agency legally named the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission responsible for operating, maintaining, and constructing bridges over Halifax Harbour between the Halifax Regional Municipality communities of Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. They also have authority over any bridges over the Northwest Arm, although no such bridge currently exists.
Brightwood, Nova Scotia
Brightwood is a lower to upper middle income neighbourhood in Dartmouth, and part of District 9 of the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. Brightwood is located between Thistle Street and Woodland Avenue, and contains the Brightwood Golf Course. The primary streets of the small neighbourhood are Victoria Road and Slayter Street. The course also borders on Creighton Park and Thistle Street

The Dartmouth Common is an approximately 300 acres area of land set aside by the government in the late 18th century for the settlers common use in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Canada. Much of it is maintained by the Halifax Regional Municipality, Today the most prominent area is called the Leighton Dillman Scenic Garden, which is named after a voluntary keeper of the garden.
Queen Square (Dartmouth)
Queen Square is an office building located in downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, part of the Halifax Regional Municipality. At 18 floors (there is no 13th floor), Queen Square is the tallest building in the downtown Dartmouth area, and is located on Alderney Drive across from Alderney Gate. The building was constructed in 1975.
Fairbanks Street
Fairbanks Street is a street in the Harbourview neighbourhood of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia which has views of the Halifax Harbour. It is home to several homes that survived the Halifax Explosion which occurred approximately 3 kilometers from Fairbanks Street. Many homes on the street received substantial damage as a result of Hurricane Juan.
Raid on Dartmouth (1749)
The Raid on Dartmouth (1749) occurred during Father Le Loutre’s War on September 30, 1749 when a Mi’kmaq militia from Chignecto raided a sawmill at present-day Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, killing four workers and wounding two. This raid was one of seven the Wabanaki Confederacy and Acadians would conduct against the settlement during the war.
