Central and East European Center for Cognitive Science
The Central and East European Center for Cognitive Science (also as CEEC of Cognitive Science) at the New Bulgarian University undertakes research in fundamental and applied cognitive science. Research topics include: memory, thinking, language, learning, perception, context, applications to robotics, AI, and cognitive systems, cognitive economics, human factors and usability, education and learning methods. The Center is co-directed by Boicho Kokinov and Jeff Elman.
Ovcha Kupel Stadium
Slavia Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in the Ovcha Kupel district of Sofia, Bulgaria. It is currently used for football matches and is the home ground of the local football club PFC Slavia Sofia. The stadium has a seating capacity of 18,000 spectators and is one of the biggest sport facilities in Bulgaria.
National Historical Museum (Bulgaria)
The National Historical Museum (Национален исторически музей, Natsionalen istoricheski muzey) in Sofia is Bulgaria's largest museum. It was founded on 5 May 1973 and its first representative exposition was opened in 1984 to commemorate 1300 years of Bulgarian history. The museum was moved to a former governmental residence in 2000 and currently stores and owns over 650,000 objects connected to archaeology, fine arts, history and ethnography, although only 10% of them are permanently exhibited.
New Bulgarian University
New Bulgarian University (Bulgarian: Нов български университет, also known and abbreviated as НБУ, NBU) is a private university based in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. NBU is the first private university in Bulgaria and among the top rated by Bulgarian business universities in the country. As of 2004, the university had 7,551 current students and 3,201 graduates. The university's campus is in the Ovcha kupel municipality in western Sofia and consists of two main buildings.
Vitosha, Sofia
Vitosha is one of the 24 districts of Sofia, situated in the southern parts of the City on the foot of the Vitosha mountain. As of 2006 it has 42,953 inhabitants. The district includes 7 neighbourhoods: Boyana; Simeonovo; Dragalevtsi; Pavlovo; Buxton; Manastirski Livadi and Knyazhevo as well as two villages Vladaya and Marchaevo. It is among the richest and greenest districts in Sofia and Bulgaria with many beautiful residences, houses, villas and residential complexes.
Ovcha kupel
Ovcha Kupel is a district located in the south-western parts of Sofia. As of 2006 it has 47,380 inhabitants. It is located at 6 km to the south-west of the City centre. The district is home of Slavia Sofia, one of the oldest football clubs in the country with a 30,000 stadium. The New Bulgarian University with more than 7,000 students is situated there. There are 9 schools and 5 chitalishta. Sheep fonts is one of the western suburbs of Sofia.
Pavlovo, Sofia
Pavlovo is a southern neighbourhood of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Part of the Vitosha municipality, it borders Buxton Neighbourhood to the northeast, Tsar Boris III Boulevard to the northwest, the Sofia ringroad (in this section known as the Nikola Petkov Boulevard) to the south and the Buxton Boulevard to the east. Pavlovo features mostly low - to mid-rise residential architecture, with houses and small blocks of flats dominating the skyline.
Buxton, Sofia
Buxton is a south-western neighbourhood of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Part of Vitosha municipality, it lies between the Buxton Brothers (Bratya Buxton) Boulevard, the Tsar Boris III Boulevard and the Sofia ringroad adjacent to Boyana. The neighbourhood was named after the brothers Charles and Noel Buxton, British public figures and prominent advocates of the Bulgarian position on the Macedonian Question in the Balkan Wars and World War I.
