Zvartnots International Airport
Zvartnots International Airport (Armenian: Զվարթնոց Միջազգային Օդանավակայան Zvart'nots' Mijazgayin Odanavakayan) is located near Zvartnots, 12 km west of Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. The airport was built in 1961. It is now the busiest airport in Armenia. The draftsmen of the airport included architects M. Khachikyan, A. Tarkhanyan, J. Sheqhlyan, L. Cherkezyan and designers H. Tigranyan, A. Meschyan, and constructor M. Baghdasaryan.
Zvartnots, Armenia
Zvartnots is a town located in the Armenian province of Armavir, about 10 km west from Yerevan, approximately half way to Ejmiatsin. Zvartnots International Airport, Yerevan's international airport, is located near the town Zvartnots, as is the Zvartnots Cathedral. The national airline, Armavia, has its corporate headquarters on the grounds of Zvartnots International Airport.
