Memphis, Tennessee
Memphis is a city in the southwestern corner of the U.S. state of Tennessee, and the county seat of Shelby County. The city is located on the 4th Chickasaw Bluff, south of the confluence of the Wolf and Mississippi rivers. Memphis had a population of 672,277 in 2011 making it the largest city in the state of Tennessee, the largest city on the Mississippi River, the third largest in the Southeastern United States, and the 20th largest in the United States.
Christian Brothers University
Christian Brothers University is the oldest collegiate degree-granting institution in the city of Memphis. The university is run by the Christian Brothers, a Roman Catholic religious order founded by St. John Baptist de la Salle, the patron saint of teachers. It is located in Midtown Memphis near the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

Orange Mound, Memphis
Orange Mound, a neighborhood in the southeastern section of Memphis, Tennessee, was the first African-American neighborhood in the United States to be built by African-Americans. Built on the grounds of the former Deaderick plantation, the Orange Mound subdivision was developed for African-Americans in the 1890s to provide affordable land and residences for the less wealthy. Drugs and crime infected the neighborhood in the 1980s and 1990s.
Zippin Pippin
The Zippin Pippin, formerly called the Pippin, is one of the oldest existing wooden roller coasters in the United States. It was initially constructed in the former East End Park in Memphis, Tennessee in 1912 by John A. Miller and Harry Baker of National Amusement Devices. The construction material was pine wood. As the park declined in popularity, the coaster was dismantled and relocated adjacent to the horse track in Montgomery Park, now known as the Mid-South Fairgrounds.
Libertyland
Libertyland was Memphis, Tennessee's only amusement park. Opened on July 4, 1976, it was located at 940 Early Maxwell Blvd. It was structured under the nonprofit 501(c)4 US tax code. It closed due to financial reasons in 2005.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Memphis
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Memphis (Latin: Dioecesis Memphitana in Tennesia) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Tennessee. It was founded on June 20, 1970, when Pope Paul VI removed the counties in the state west of the Tennessee River from the Diocese of Nashville, which, prior to that time, encompassed the entire state. The diocese is broken into two deaneries, the Memphis Deanery comprising Shelby County and the Jackson Deanery which encompassed the other 20 counties in the diocese.
Memphis Botanic Garden
The Memphis Botanic Garden is a 96-acre botanical garden located in Audubon Park at 750 Cherry Road, Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis Botanic Garden is open to the public daily, where guests can take a stroll through the many gardens on the grounds. There is also a children's garden, called my Big Backyard, which is very popular with Memphians and out of towners. Memphis Botanic Garden hosts many big events each year, such as the Daffodil Dash Race, The Family Egg Hunt, and Mother's Day Jazz Brunch.
Tim McCarver Stadium
Tim McCarver Stadium was a stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. It was primarily used for baseball and was the home of the Memphis Blues (1968-1976), the Memphis Chicks (1978-1997), and the Memphis Redbirds (1998-1999). The ballpark had a capacity of 8,800 people and opened in 1963 as an American Legion field. It was first used for professional baseball in 1968. It was named after then-Major League Baseball catcher and current commentator, Tim McCarver.

It is the regional hub for a tri-state area of Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee. Shelby County is located over four natural aquifers, one of which is recognized as the "Memphis sand aquifer" or simply as the "Memphis aquifer. " This particular water source is stated to contain more than 100 trillion gallons (380 km³) of water.
Pink Palace Museum and Planetarium
The Pink Palace Museum and Planetarium in Memphis, Tennessee, serves as the Mid-South's major science and historical museum, and features exhibits ranging from archeology to chemistry. Over 240,000 visitors are counted in the museum each year. The museum is part of the Pink Palace Family of Museums, a collection of historic, educational, and technological attractions maintained by the City of Memphis and Memphis Museums, Inc.
