Noyes, Minnesota
Noyes is an unincorporated community in St. Vincent Township, Kittson County, Minnesota, United States. Located in the extreme northwestern corner of the state on the Canada-United States border, it was an important border-crossing location going back to the days of ox roads and later was one of the busiest ports of entry west of the Great Lakes for rail and road traffic. The town of Emerson, Manitoba is located only a few feet from Noyes on the Canadian side of the border.

Fort Dufferin was a Canadian government post located in southern Manitoba near the Canada-United States border at Emerson. Used during the 1870s, the fort was a base for the North American Boundary Commission and the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP), and later used as an immigration station.
