Pembina, North Dakota
Pembina Listen/ˈpɛmbɨnə/ is a city in Pembina County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 592 at the 2010 census. Pembina is located two miles south of the Canada-United States border. Interstate 29 passes on the west side of Pembina, leading north to the Canadian border at Emerson, Manitoba and south to the cities of Grand Forks and Fargo.

It drains an area (about 8500 square kilometers) of the prairie country along the U.S. -Canada border, threading the Manitoba-North Dakota border eastward to the Red River. Via the Red River, Lake Winnipeg and the Nelson River, it is part of the watershed of Hudson Bay.
Noyes, Minnesota
Noyes is an unincorporated community in St. Vincent Township, Kittson County, Minnesota, United States. Located in the extreme northwestern corner of the state on the Canada-United States border, it was an important border-crossing location going back to the days of ox roads and later was one of the busiest ports of entry west of the Great Lakes for rail and road traffic. The town of Emerson, Manitoba is located only a few feet from Noyes on the Canadian side of the border.
