Highland Park, Saint Paul

Highland Park is a neighborhood in the southwestern corner of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Also known as Highland District Council (District 15), it lies along the Mississippi river across from Fort Snelling and the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. According to the 2000 census Highland Park had a population of 23,202.

Fort Road Bridge

Fort Road Bridge is a girder bridge that spans the Mississippi River between St. Paul, Minnesota and Fort Snelling, Minnesota. It was built in 1960 by the Minnesota Department of Transportation and was designed by Sverdrup & Parcel Engineering Company. It is the third bridge on the site, the first bridge, a deck girder bridge was built in 1880. The second bridge, a metal arch bridge was built by 1912.

Big Rivers Regional Trail

Big Rivers Regional Trail is a rail trail in Minnesota, in the cities of Lilydale, Mendota, and Mendota Heights. The 4.5-mile paved trail occupies an abandoned railroad corridor. It is used for walking, biking and inline skating and is part of the Dakota County park system. The trail follows the Mississippi River to its confluence with the Minnesota River.

Acacia Park Cemetery, Mendota Heights

Acacia Park Cemetery is located in Mendota Heights, Minnesota at 2151 Pilot Knob Road. Established in 1925, Acacia Park consists of 75 acres of land overlooking the confluence of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers. In addition, Dakota Indians had buried their dead on the same site prior to acquisition by European settlers. Pike Island

Pike Island is an island at the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers in the southwestern part of St. Paul in the Twin Cities metropolitan area of Minnesota, USA. The island is now part of Fort Snelling State Park. It is a portion of the 100,000 acres of land purchased from the Mdewakanton Sioux Indians by Zebulon Pike in September 1805. Pike's Purchase was later to become Fort Snelling, Minneapolis, and St. Paul. The U.S.
