The town of Green Rock, Illinois has been incorporated into the city of Colona. Colona-Green Rock was the first community in Illinois to merge by popular vote.

John Deere Classic
The John Deere Classic is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour. It is played annually in July, the week before The Open Championship, at the TPC at Deere Run in the Quad Cities community of Silvis, Illinois. The tournament began as the Quad Cities Open in 1971 and was a "satellite event" on the PGA Tour. It became an official tour event in 1972. Title sponsors have included Ed McMahon (1974–79), Miller Brewing Company (1982–85), Hardee's (1986–94) and John Deere (since 1999).
TPC at Deere Run
TPC at Deere Run is a 18-hole golf course in Silvis, Illinois. It is operated by the PGA Tour as a member of their Tournament Players Club network of golf courses and plays host to the annual John Deere Classic tournament, which is part of the tour's regular season schedule. The TPC at Deere Run was designed as a stadium course by D.A. Weibring Golf Resources in association with PGA TOUR Design Services, and plays 7,257 yards to a par of 71 from the championship tees.

The campus is 11 miles south of Moline, Illinois and serves a mixed village and rural residential community.
