Humboldt State University
Humboldt State University (HSU) is the northernmost campus of the twenty-three school California State University system, located hillside in Arcata within Humboldt County, California, USA. The main campus, nestled at the edge of a coast redwood forest, has commanding views of Humboldt Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
William McKinley statue (Patigian)
The McKinley statue for the purposes of this article refers to one of various statues of President of the United States William McKinley, specifically the bronze statue in Arcata, California. This statue of McKinley was commissioned by 81-year-old George Zehndner in 1905. Zehndner had met McKinley in 1901 and was much impressed by "the first modern president. " The president's assassination soon after moved Zehndner to memorialize the president. Zehndner paid $15,000 for the nine-foot statue.

Arcata Wastewater Treatment Plant and Wildlife Sanctuary is an innovative sewer management system employed by the city of Arcata, California. A series of oxidation ponds, treatment wetlands and enhancement marshes are used to filter sewage waste. The Marshes also serve as a wildlife refuge, and are on the Pacific Flyway. The Arcata Marsh is a popular destination for birders.

The first game in Redwood Bowl was played on Sunday, Oct. 8, 1946, with the Stanford University JV defeating Humboldt State, 20-0.
