Ust-Izhora
Ust-Izhora is a municipal settlement in Kolpinsky District of the federal city of St. Petersburg, Russia, situated at the confluence of the Izhora and Neva Rivers, and is roughly equidistant to Saint Petersburg and Schlisselburg, Russia, 30 kilometers from both the Gulf of Finland in the west and Lake Ladoga in the northeast. Population: 1,381; 1,152.
Izhora River
The Izhora, also known as the Inger River, is a left tributary of the Neva River on its run through Ingria in northwestern Russia from Lake Ladoga to Gulf of Finland. The Izhora flows through Gatchinsky and Tosnensky Districts of Leningrad Oblast as well as through Pushkinsky and Kolpinsky Districts of the federal city of Saint Petersburg. The settlement of Ust-Izhora (lit. "mouth of Izhora") is situated at the confluence of Izhora and Neva, halfway between Saint Petersburg and Schlisselburg.

Kolpino
Kolpino is a municipal city in Kolpinsky District of the federal city of St. Petersburg, Russia, located on the Izhora River 26 kilometers southeast of St. Petersburg proper. Population: 138,013; 136,632; 81,000 (1972); 8,076 (1897). Kolpino was founded in 1722 and was granted town status in 1912. It used to be one of the chief ironworks of the crown in Russia. Battle of Krasny Bor
The Battle of Krasny Bor was part of the Soviet offensive Operation Polyarnaya Zvezda. The Soviet offensive called for a pincer attack near Leningrad, to build up on the success of Operation Iskra and completely lift the Siege of Leningrad, encircling a substantial part of the German 18th Army. The offensive near Krasny Bor, Leningrad Oblast, formed the western arm of the pincer. The Soviet offensive began on Wednesday, 10 February 1943.
Tosna River
Tosna River is a river in Luzhsky, Tosnensky, and Kirovsky Districts of Leningrad Oblast, Russia, as well as in the city of Saint Petersburg. It is a left tributary of Neva River. The towns of Tosno, Nikolskoye, and Otradnoye, as well as the urban-type settlement of Ulyanovka are located along the Tosna. The length of the Tosna is 121 kilometres, and the area of its drainage basin is 1,640 square kilometres . The main tributary of the river is the Yeglinka (left).
Pella Palace
Pella Palace (Пеллинский дворец) was a former summer residence built during the reign of Catherine II of Russia for her grandson, future emperor Alexander. It was situated on the left bank of the Neva River, 30 km east of Saint Petersburg, where the town of Otradnoye now stands. If completed, it would have been Russia's largest imperial palace. Pella, partially built in 1785-1789, has been razed to the ground by Catherine's son, Paul of Russia.
Mga River
The Mga is a river in Kirovsky and Tosnensky Districts of Leningrad Oblast in northwestern Russia. Mga is a left tributary of Neva River. The urban-type settlements of Mga and Pavlovo are located on the river. The length of the Mga is 93 kilometres, and the area of its basin is 754 square kilometres . The principal tributaries of the Mga are the Beryozovka (right) and the Voytolovka (left).
Krasny Bor transmitter
Krasny Bor transmitter is a large facility for longwave, mediumwave and shortwave broadcasting at Krasny Bor near Saint Petersburg, Russia. Krasny Bor transmitter was established in 1961 and belongs to the most powerful broadcasting stations in the world. It uses four mast radiators and several shortwave antennas. The tallest of these mast radiators is a 271.5 metres high guyed mast, which is equipped with a cage antenna and used for longwave broadcasting.
