Panciu
The town of Panciu in the county of Vrancea in Romania lies on the river Şuşiţa, in southern Moldavia, 30 km northwest of Focşani. It has a population of approximately 9,000. It administers five villages: Crucea de Jos, Crucea de Sus, Dumbrava, Neicu and Satu Nou. The region is famous for its white wines but also for its sparkling wines (white, red and rosé). Milcovul
Milcovul is a commune in Vrancea County, Romania. It is located in the historical region of Moldavia. It is composed of two villages, Lămoteşti and Milcovul, and also included Gologanu and Răstoaca before these became separate communes in 2004. In 1227 Milcov became the seat of the Diocese of Cumania, a Roman Catholic bishopric which served the Cumans and the Teutonic Knights in the Burzenland. The diocese was destroyed during the Mongol invasion of Europe in 1241.
Milcov River (Siret)
The Milcov River is a tributary of the Putna River in eastern Romania. The city of Focşani used to lie on it. Due to floods, however, the riverbed moved a few kilometers away, south of the city. In 1482, Stephen the Great declared Milcov as the boundary between Wallachia and Moldavia. In 19th century, the river was perceived by unionists as a symbol of discord between Wallachia and Moldavia—see Hora Unirii, a poem by Vasile Alecsandri.

Mausoleum of Mărăşeşti
The Mausoleum of Mărăşeşti is a memorial site in Romania containing remains of 5,073 Romanian soldiers and officers killed in the First World War and dedicated to the commemoration of the Battle of Mărăşeşti and Romanian Army members who were killed during World War I. The memorial took architects George Cristinel and Constantin Pomponiu 15 years to build and was unveiled on 18 September 1938 by King Carol II.
