Balabac, Palawan
Balabac is a seconnd class municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines, off the southern end of Palawan Island. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 35,758 people. The municipality consists of some 30 islands, the largest of which are Balabac, Bancalan, Bugsuk, Mantangule, Pandanan, and Ramos . The islands are notable for its uncommon indigenous plant and animal species, such as the nocturnal Philippine mouse-deer (or Pilandok).

Balabac Island is the western-most island of the Palawan province in the Philippines, only about 50 kilometres north from Sabah, Malaysia, across the Balabac Strait. Administratively, the island forms the main part of Balabac Municipality and is divided into 14 barangays (the other 6 barangays of the municipality are on other nearby islands): Balabac Island is home to various endemic species.
