Yamato-Yagi Station is a railway station on the Kintetsu Osaka and Kintetsu Kashihara Lines in Kashihara, Nara, Japan, operated by Kintetsu Corporation. It is a major station on the lines to and from Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, and Nagoya.
Yagi (Kashihara)
, which can be directly translated as meaning 8 trees, is a part of Kashihara, located in Nara, Japan. According to ancient texts, Yagi has a significant place in Japan's history. The first emperor, Emperor Jimmu, journeyed from Miyazaki Prefecture to Kashihara, making his way through the Yoshino mountains and eventually choosing the east side of Mount Unebi (2 kilometres from central Yagi) for his palace site.
Fujiwara-kyō
was the Imperial capital of Japan for sixteen years, between 694 and 710. It was located in Yamato Province, having been moved from nearby Asuka. However, the name Fujiwara-kyō was never used in the Nihon Shoki. During those times it was recorded as Aramashi-kyō (新益京). As of 2006, ongoing excavations have revealed construction on the site of Fujiwara-kyō as early as 682, near the end of the reign of Emperor Temmu.

Imanishi family's House
The Imanishi Family Residence is one of a Group of Traditional Buildings in Imai-cho, Kashihara, Nara Prefecture Japan. It dates to 1650 and has been designated an Important Cultural Property. As well as being as the minka or machiya of the Imanishi family, it served as the jinya, or centre and court, of Imai, then an autonomous town. Its roof is made in the form of "yatsumune-zukuri" (八棟造), which means "complicated roof style with multiple ridges and bargeboards".
