Japanese battleship Mikasa

Mikasa is a pre-dreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Japanese Navy in the late 1890s, the only ship in her class. As Japan lacked the industrial capacity to build such warships herself, the ship was designed and built in the United Kingdom. The ship served as the flagship of Admiral Tōgō Heihachirō throughout the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905, including the Battle of Port Arthur on the second day of the war and the Battles of the Yellow Sea and Tsushima.

Kanagawa Dental College

is a private university at Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1910 in Kanda, Tokyo as the Tokyo Joshi Shika Gakiun Gakkō, the first women’s dental school in Japan. After the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake, it relocated to Shinagawa. It relocated again to Ota-ku, Tokyo in 1933, and to its present location in Yokosuka in 1964. It was chartered as a coeducational university in 1964.

Attack on Yokosuka

The attack on Yokosuka was an air raid conducted by the United States Navy on 18 July 1945 during the last weeks of the Pacific War. The Japanese battleship Nagato was the raid's main target, though anti-aircraft positions and other warships at Yokosuka Naval Arsenal were also attacked. Other U.S.  Navy and British Royal Navy aircraft struck airfields in the Tokyo area.

Yokosuka Arts Theatre

Yokosuka Arts Theatre is part of the mixed-use Bay Square complex in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It opened in 1994. The horseshoe-shaped theatre seats 1,806 and there is a smaller hall, the Yokosuka Bayside Pocket, with a capacity of 600. The Bay Square complex is by Kenzo Tange, with acoustical design of the halls by Nagata Acoustics.
