Maaria
Maaria is a former municipality of Finland in what is now the northern part of the city of Turku. The area has been inhabited since the Iron Age, and it became an important village in the 15th century with the construction of a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary (hence the district's name). Also Koroinen, with the former residence of the Bishop of Finland is in the area.

Halinen is a district and a suburb of the city of Turku, Finland. It is located in the north-eastern part of the city, bordering the Littoinen district in Kaarina. It is rather densely populated, having a population of 3,501, with an annual growth rate of 0.34%. 23.11% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while only 3.43% are over 65, making the district one of the youngest in Turku. Kärsämäki is a district in the Tampereentie ward of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located to the north of the city, and consists mostly of industrial area. It also includes, however, the mainly low-density residential area of Paltta. The current population of Kärsämäki is 2,021, and it is decreasing at an annual rate of 0.69%. 14.35% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 18.46% are over 65.

The district's linguistic makeup is 95.28% Finnish, 0.75% Swedish, and 3.96% other.
Yli-Maaria
Yli-Maaria is a district in the Maaria-Paattinen ward of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located to the north of the city, and is a very sparsely populated area. The district was previously part of the municipality of Maaria, which was annexed into Turku in 1967. The current population of Yli-Maaria is 2,209, and it is increasing at an annual rate of 3.71%. 32.10% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 4.89% are over 65.
St Mary's Church, Turku
St Mary's Church is a medieval stone church located in Maaria, in Turku, Finland. There are no records as to when the present church was built, but the work was probably started in the mid or late 15th century. According to Markus Hiekkanen, the church was probably built in the 1440s. On the basis of the style of the closets, the gables were constructed about 50 years later. There are medieval limestone paintings on the walls, which are not common to other places in Finland.
