Bowness, Calgary
Bowness is a community district in west Calgary. It was an autonomous town until 1963, when it was amalgamated by Calgary. The neighbourhood is bordered by the Bow River on the north and east, 16th Avenue on the south, and Stoney Trail on the west. Immediately over the river to the east lies the community of Montgomery, itself an autonomous town until Calgary amalgamated it in 1963. On the northwest end of the community is one of Calgary's most popular parks, Bowness Park.

CJAY-FM is an active rock radio station in Calgary, Alberta that broadcasts on 92.1 FM. Owned by Astral Media, CJAY operates repeater transmitters located in Banff, Alberta and Invermere, British Columbia (99.7 FM). Its founder was Ralph Connor, who moved to Calgary from Sudbury, Ontario to start the station. CJAY-FM was owned by Standard Broadcasting until 2007, when Standard Radio was acquired by Astral from Standard Broadcasting due to Standard's exit from terrestrial broadcasting.

CBCX-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts Radio-Canada's Espace musique network at 89.7 FM in Calgary, Alberta. The station also has a rebroadcast transmitter in Edmonton, CBCX-FM-1, at 90.1 FM which will soon be replaced by CHFA-10-FM operating at 101.1 MHz, while CBCX-FM-1 will move from 90.1 MHz to 101.1 MHz. Both of the station's transmitters were licensed in 2002 and launched in early 2003.
Bowness High School
Bowness High School is a public school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, which teaches grades 10 through 12. It is operated by the Calgary Board of Education. The school was founded in 1924 as a junior and senior high school to serve the town of Bowness . In 1964 the town was annexed by Calgary. No longer having a junior high component, the school now serves several Calgary communities in addition to Bowness. Some of the programs of the school include the CTS department and RAP.

The Calgary Waldorf School is a private school in Cougar Ridge, Calgary, Alberta, Canada founded in 1985. It accepts students from kindergarten to grade 9. The Canada Olympic Park bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track is a bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track located in Calgary, Canada. Part of Canada Olympic Park, it hosted the bobsleigh and luge competitions at the 1988 Winter Olympics. This track is one of only two of its type in the world to be featured in a non-documentary film when it was part of the 1993 American film Cool Runnings which loosely followed the Jamaican Bobsled Team during their competition in bobsleigh at the 1988 Games.
