City of Swan
The City of Swan is a local government area of Western Australia. It is in Perth's north-eastern metropolitan region and the Swan Valley, centred approximately 20 km north-east of the Perth Central business district (CBD). The City covers an area of 1,043 km² (much of which is uninhabited) and has a population of about 105,000. At the 2001 census, 10% of the population were born in the United Kingdom, while significant Southern European and South-East Asian minorities are also located here.

Helena River
The Helena River is a tributary of the Swan River in Western Australia. The river rises in country east of Mount Dale and flows north-west to Mundaring Weir, where it is dammed. It then flows west until it reaches the Darling Scarp. It passes through the western edge of the Darling Scarp between Gooseberry Hill, and Greenmount Hill before joining the Swan River at the southern edge of the historic town, now suburb, of Guildford.

Swan View Tunnel
The Swan View Tunnel is a 340 m (1116 ft) railway tunnel located on the southern side of the Jane Brook valley at Swan View, Western Australia on the edge of the Darling Scarp. Currently inactive, due to its location within the John Forrest National Park the tunnel and its adjacent landscape are maintained in a conserved state. Prior to the construction of tunnels for the Mandurah line in 2004, the Swan View Tunnel was the only tunnel built for the Western Australian railway network.

It is located at 31º54'S 116º04'E, on the northern side of Great Eastern Highway, near the border between the suburbs of Swan View and Greenmount. Chippers Leap is named for John Chipper, who jumped from the rock on 3 February 1832 while trying to escape an attack by a party of Noongars.

Formerly known as Wexcombe, the name Stratton was chosen in 1989 to honour John Peter Stratton, a farmer, businessman and local landowner who was president of the Western Australian Trotting Association from 1930 until 1966.

Viveash is a suburb in Perth, Western Australia, in the City of Swan. It was named after Dr Samuel Waterman Viveash, the owner of the land in this area in the 1840s. Viveash arrived in the Swan River Colony in December 1838 and took up land in the Avon Land District. The suburban area of Viveash was developed by the Midland Brick Company which carried out subdivision in 1967 and requested that the area be given the name Viveash in 1968.
Midland Junction railway station
The Midland Junction railway station was an important junction station on the Eastern Railway of Western Australia until its closure in 1966. Its history started on 1 March 1886 when Frederick Broome, then Governor of Western Australia, turned the first sod. It was the first railway station in Midland Junction and was replaced by the Midland station 300 metres west, across the tracks from the Midland Railway Workshops.

Swan View railway station, Perth was a railway station of significance on the Eastern Railway in Western Australia. In all Working Timetables (WTT) during the operation of this line, the station was the point of control for the Swan View Tunnel The Bellevue to Chidlow railway line involved the encounter with the Darling Scarp requiring extra power for the up line, and considerable extra caution for the up and down lines.

Bellevue railway station was an important junction station when the Eastern Railway first route passed through to Greenmount in the 1880s, when the second route passed through to Swan View, in the 1890s - until the closure of the two routes in 1966 when the station was removed. It was for many years the final railway station of the metropolitan operations, just one station after Midland Junction.
Perth SpeedDome
The Perth SpeedDome is a velodrome in Midvale, Western Australia, Australia. It is Western Australia's only indoor velodrome. It was designed by German architect Ralph Schürmann and constructed under the supervision of English velodrome specialist Ron Webb. The SpeedDome was opened in November 1989, replacing the Lake Monger Velodrome, an old outdoor concrete velodrome in Mount Hawthorn. The SpeedDome hosted the 1997 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
