The City of Belmont is a local government area in the inner eastern suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth, located about 5 kilometres east of Perth's central business district on the south bank of the Swan River. The City covers an area of 39.8 square kilometres, maintains 225 km of roads and has a population of 35,209 (2011). Belmont contains Perth's domestic and international airports which account for 33.7% of the City of Belmont's land area.
Redcliffe, Western Australia
Redcliffe is a suburb of Perth and is located within the City of Belmont local government area. The story of its name is ambiguous: while some claim it was named after steep red clay deposits that lined the banks of the Swan River when settlers first arrived, others claim that it was named after the ancestorial home of an early settler. Bassendean Oval
Bassendean Oval (officially Steel Blue Oval) is a sports stadium, located in Bassendean, Western Australia. The capacity of the venue is 22,000 people. It usually hosts Australian rules football matches and is the home of WAFL League's Swan Districts Football Club. The record crowd is 22,350, for a WAFL match between Swan Districts and West Perth in 1980. The stadium played host to the Big Day Out in 2001 and the Soundwave Festival show in March 2009 and 2010.

Its Local Government Area is the City of Belmont. The suburb, part of a land grant assigned to Captain Francis Henry Byrne in 1831, was believed to have been named Belmont after Byrne's estate in England. The land was purchased by Shepherd Smith of Sydney in 1882, who subdivided it in 1897–1898.

Parry Field
Parry Field in Belmont, Perth, Western Australia was the site of Baseball WA's first purpose-built baseball stadium, named for Kevin Parry, a local businessman and enthusiast whose fortunes failed soon after the opening. The stadium featured television-standard lighting, seating for about 2,200 people and standing room for 3,000 more. The stadium was sold off by Belmont City Council as part of the WA Building Better Cities Program.

The Western Australian Rail Transport Museum is a property in Bassendean in Western Australia that is run by the Western Australian division of the Australian Railway Historical Society Rail Heritage WA. It has the most comprehensive collection of heritage steam locomotives and rolling stock in Western Australia, and also has a museum and archive that is the largest outside of government archives.
Garrick Theatre (Guildford)
The Garrick Theatre is the longest continual running amateur theatre group in metropolitan Western Australia, located 16 Meadow Street in Guildford, Western Australia. The original structure was built in 1853 and is considered to be one of the few intact parts of a convict depot demonstrating the way of life in the Convict Era of Western Australian - current use as a theatre was preceded by use as Commissariat Store and Quarters and later as an Infant Health Centre.
1949 MacRobertson Miller Aviation DC-3 crash
On 2 July 1949 a Douglas DC-3 aircraft departed from Perth, Western Australia for a night flight of 441 nautical miles to Carnarvon. The aircraft climbed to a height of about 500 feet and then spiralled almost vertically to the ground, killing all 18 people on board. It crashed about a mile north of Perth airport and burned for over an hour. It was the worst civil aviation accident in Western Australia and the third-worst in Australia.

Guildford Cemetery is a cemetery in the southern part of Guildford, Western Australia located between the Great Eastern Highway Bypass and Kalamunda Road adjacent to the Perth Airport. An earlier cemetery in Guildford was established early in the history of the Swan River Colony in James Street, some headstones were moved to Guildford Cemetery when it was established.
St Matthew's Church, Guildford
St Matthew's Church is an Anglican church in Guildford, Western Australia. The church is part of the Anglican Diocese of Perth. Saint Matthew's was the first church to be built in the Swan parish. It was a small octagonal mud-brick church, hastily built on land donated by Governor James Stirling on his Woodbridge estate, next to where Guildford Grammar School now stands.
