Christopher Layton

Christopher Layton (March 8, 1821 – August 7, 1898) was a Mormon colonizer and Patriarch who founded the cities of Kaysville, Utah, Layton, Utah, and Thatcher, Arizona. Layton, Utah is named after him. Layton was born at Thorncote Green, Northill, Bedfordshire, England. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1842 and a year later emigrated to the United States. In 1846, Layton joined the Mormon Battalion. In 1852, he moved to Kaysville, Utah Territory.

The Bonneville Shoreline Trail is a mixed use (biking/hiking) recreation trail in Utah that will follow the shoreline of the ancient Lake Bonneville where today the Wasatch Front plays host to a growing region of outdoor enthusiasts. United Airlines Flight 2860

United Airlines Flight 2860 was a scheduled cargo flight from San Francisco, California to Chicago, Illinois, with an intermediate stop in Salt Lake City, Utah. On December 17, 1977, operated by one of the airline's McDonnell Douglas DC-8-54AF Jet Traders, registration N8047U, the flight crashed into a mountain in the Wasatch Range near Kaysville, Utah. All three crew members, the only occupants of the plane, were killed in the accident.
