Spokane, Missouri
Spokane is a census-designated place in Christian County, Missouri, United States. The population was 177 at the 2010 census, but is well over 200 as of 2013. It is part of the Springfield, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The place was founded in 1893, and named after Spokane, Washington, but it is not pronounced like its namesake; instead, the "a" is long (that is, "spō-kān") and rhymes with "cane". It is hoped that by 2013 Spokane will begin the stages of organizing a city government.
