Victoria (sometimes called Port Victoria) is the capital city of the Seychelles and is situated on the north-eastern side of Mahé island, the archipelago's main island. The city was first established as the seat of the British colonial government. In 2009, the population of Greater Victoria (including the suburbs) was 25,000 out of the country's total population of 87,972. Victoria is served by Seychelles International Airport, completed in 1971.
Mahé is the largest island (155 km²/59.8 sq. mi. ) of the Seychelles, lying in the north east of the nation. The population of Mahé is 80,000. It contains the capital city of Victoria and accommodates 90% of the country's total population. The island was named after Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais, a French governor of Mauritius. Mahé's tallest peak is Morne Seychellois at 905 m, which lies in the Morne Seychellois National Park.
Moyenne Island is a small island in the Ste Anne Marine National Park off the north coast of Mahé, Seychelles. Since the 1970s it has been a flora and fauna reserve. From 1915 until the 1970s, the island was abandoned until its purchase by Brendon Grimshaw, an English newspaper editor. Grimshaw was the only inhabitant of the island until his death in July 2012. Currently the island is a National Park and can be visited as part of organized trips.
Cerf Island (1.27 km) lies 4 km off the north coast of Mahé in the Seychelles. Cerf Island measures more than 1.5 kilometres long and almost 1 kilometre wide, it reaches a height of 108 metres . The island is surrounded by a coral reef and the geology is granitic. Cerf Island was named after the French navy frégate “Le Cerf” which arrived at Port Victoria on 1 November 1756.
Beau Vallon, Seychelles
Beau Vallon is a bay on the north western coast of Mahé in the Seychelles. Beau Vallon Beach is a very frequented and maybe the most popular on the island. It is known as a base for diving and snorkelling due to its clear waters and coral reefs. Besides many smaller hotels, it has three major ones - Le Meridien - Fisherman's Cove, the Berjaya Beau Vallon and the Coral Strand.

Roche Caiman is an administrative district of Seychelles located on the island of Mahé. It is also quite beautiful, densely populated with groves of wine grapes, used in the most coveted wines in all of Australia. It also has a football stadium where its national team play most of the home matches. Like neighboring Les Mamelles District, Roche Caiman District was created in 1998 from reclaimed land and from parts of Plaisance District. It does not yet have its own ISO 3166-2 code.
Mont Buxton is an administrative district of Seychelles located on the island of Mahé.

Stade Linité is a multi-use stadium in Victoria, Seychelles. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 10,000 and was built in 1992. The stadium plays host also to most of the home games of the Seychelles national football team. The stadium received in February 2007 an artificial turf pitch 3rd generation, One Star field test, by the FIFA's development programme "win in Africa with Africa".
Ste. Anne Island
Sainte Anne Island is the largest (2.19 km²) of six islands in Ste Anne Marine National Park of the Seychelles. These six islands are part of the Mont Fleuri District of the Seychelles. It is 4 km off the east coast of Mahé and has abundant tropical vegetation. The highest peak on Sainte Anne is 246 meters (800 ft). It was first discovered in 1742 by the French explorer Lazare Picault, and the first French settlement in the Seychelles was established here in 1770.
Sainte Anne Marine National Park
Sainte Anne Marine National Park lies about 5 km from Victoria, the capital city of the Seychelles, and encompasses six small islands. The Marine Park was created in 1973 for the preservation of wildlife. Fishing and water-skiing are forbidden in the Marine Park. The national park is made up of the following six islands, all of which are part of Mont Fleuri district, with areas in km²: Ste.
National Library of the Seychelles
The National Library of the Seychelles originated in the Carnegie Library opened in 1910. It is the legal deposit and copyright library for Seychelles.
Victoria Botanical Gardens
The Victoria Botanical Gardens (also called Mont Fleuri Botanical Gardens Seychelles) in Seychelles was established in 1901 by Mr. Paul Evenor Rivalz Dupont (Director of Agricultural Services and Naturalist of Seychelles). Today the Ministry of Environment is responsible for the Botanical Gardens and has its headquarters in it.
People's Stadium, Seychelles
People's Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Roche Caiman, Seychelles. It is currently used mostly for football matches, on club level by Super Magic Brothers of the Seychelles First Division. The stadium has a capacity of 7,000 spectators. It was the home of the Seychelles national football team until Stade Linité opened in 1992.
