Oka River
Oka is a river in central Russia, the largest right tributary of the Volga. It flows through the regions of Oryol, Tula, Kaluga, Moscow, Ryazan, Vladimir, and Nizhny Novgorod and is navigable over a large part of its total length, as far upstream as to the town of Kaluga. Its length exceeds 1,500 kilometres . The Russian capital Moscow sits on one of the Oka's tributaries—the Moskva River.

Volga (Privolzhsky) Federal District (Russian: Приво́лжский федера́льный о́круг, Privolzhsky federalny okrug) is one of the eight federal districts of Russia. It forms the southeastern part of European Russia. Its population was 29,899,699 (70.8% urban) according to the 2010 Census, living on an area of 1,038,000 square kilometers . Grigory Rapota was appointed the federal district's Presidential Envoy on May 12, 2008.
Makaryev Fair
Makaryev Fair was a fair in Russia held annually every July near Makaryev Monastery on the left bank of the Volga River from the mid-16th century to 1816. Following a massive fire in 1816, it was moved to Nizhny Novgorod, but for some decades thereafter it still was commonly referred to as Makariev Fair. It attracted many foreign merchants from India, Iran, and Central Asia. This fair was a commerce centre to sell up to half the total production of export goods in Russia.
Aleksandr Suvorov (ship)
The Aleksandr Suvorov is a Valerian Kuybyshev class Soviet/Russian river cruise ship, cruising in the Volga–Don basin. On 5 June 1983 Suvorov crashed into a girder of the Ulyanovsk railway bridge. The catastrophe led to 177 deaths yet the ship stayed afloat, was restored and still navigates. Her home port is currently Nizhny Novgorod.

Pechersky Ascension Monastery (Russian: Печёрский Вознесенский монастырь, Pechyorsky Vozensensky Monastyr) is a monastery in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. It is the principal monastery of the Nizny Novgorod Eparchy (diocese) and the seat of the Bishop of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas.
Fedyakovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast
Fedyakovo is a rural locality in Kstovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located just a few kilometers outside of the Nizhny Novgorod's city line, with the apartment blocks on the south-eastern edge of the city being easily visible from the village. The village church is that of Transfiguration of the Lord (Спасо-Преображенская церковь).

Zelyony Gorod (Russian: Зелёный Го́род, lit. green city) is a urban locality (a resort settlement under the administrative jurisdiction of the city of oblast significance of Nizhny Novgorod in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located in a forested area to the southeast of Nizhny Novgorod and surrounded by the territory of Kstovsky District. Population: 2,716; 2,437; 4,234 . The forested area around the settlement is a surviving part of a much larger forest area that existed here centuries ago.
Trade Union Sport Palace
Trade Union Sport Palace is an indoor sporting arena located in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The capacity of the arena is 5,500 after the repair in 2007. It is the home arena of the Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod ice hockey team of the Kontinental Hockey League. The arena replaced Konovalenko Sports Palace as the home of the club.

Nizhny Novgorod Stadium is a description of a proposed football stadium which will be built in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia in time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. It will also host FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod of the Russian Premier League, replacing Lokomotiv Stadium. It will have a capacity of 44,899 spectators.
