Caraz District
The Caraz District (Spanish: Distrito de Caraz) is one of 10 districts of the Huaylas Province in the Ancash Region of Peru. The capital of the district is the city of Caraz. It is located at 2235 msnm. In Caraz the paved road that comes from Pativilca ends. The snow-capped mountains of Huandoy (6356 m), Santa Cruz (6259 m), Alpamayo (6120 m) and others, constitute a splendid frame for the city. Near Parón lagoon, the snow summits are reflected.
