Battle of Rastarkalv
The Battle of Rastarkalv (Slaget på Rastarkalv) took place in AD 955 on the island of Frei in the county of Møre og Romsdal, Norway. This was one of several battles between the forces of King Haakon the Good and those of the sons of Eirik Bloodaxe (Eiriksønnene). After their father's death, Harald Greycloak and his brothers were allied against King Haakon with King Harald I of Denmark of Denmark.

The bridge is 333 metres long, and the maximum clearance to the sea is 28 metres . The current bridge replaced an older bridge that was opened on 20 December 1936. The old bridge was a steel arch bridge that was 304 metres long and had a main span of 80 metres .

Atlantic Ocean Tunnel
The Atlantic Ocean Tunnel is an undersea tunnel that connects the city of Kristiansund with the island of Averøya to the west in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The 5,727-metre long tunnel reaches a depth of 250 metres, making it one of the deepest undersea tunnels in the world. Construction began in 2006 and the tunnel opened on 19 December 2009, later than initially estimated. Breakthrough was in March 2009. Problems with water leaks caused delays and cost overruns.

The island is split in two by the Vågen inlet, with the western half called Kirkelandet and the eastern half called Gomalandet. Kirkelandet Church is located on the western part of the island. The island is the main island of the city of Kristiansund, with the island of Innlandet to the southwest, the island of Nordlandet to the southeast, and the island of Skorpa to the east.
