Roverud is a village (in Norwegian a tettsted) of 800 people (as of 2011) in the municipality of Kongsvinger. It lies about 8 km north of the municipality center for Kongsvinger where Fylkesvei 205 meets Riksvei 20 on the east side of the river Glomma. Gjemselund Stadion
Gjemselund Stadion is a football stadium in Kongsvinger, Norway and the home ground of Kongsvinger Idrettslag. Until 2008, it was also used for track and field meets, having got rubber track in 1986. The venue hosted the Norwegian Athletics Championships in 1968. The stadium received artificial turf for the 2009 season. The record attendance is 6,794 from 1983. Capacity has since been reduced by new regulations.
Kongsvinger Station
Kongsvinger Station is a railway station located in downtown Kongsvinger, Norway, on the Kongsvinger Line and Solør Line. The station was built in 1862 as part of the Kongsvinger Lin and designed in Swiss chalet style by Heinrich Ernst Schirmer and Wilhelm von Hanno. Later a branch line, the Solør Line, was built to Elverum. The station is served by nine daily train departures to and from Oslo Central Station.

Battle of Matrand
The Battle of Matrand was a military battle on 5 August 1814 between Norwegian and Swedish forces as part of the Swedish-Norwegian War of 1814. It was the bloodiest battle of the entire war, where the Swedish lost 340 men, of which 270 captured; the Norwegians lost around 50 men with 90 wounded and 15 captured.

Matrand is a village in the municipality of Eidskog, Norway. The village is located approximately 20 km (12 miles) south of Kongsvinger and approximately 20 km (12 miles) from the Swedish border. Main article: Battle of Matrand Matrand was host to the bloodiest battle of the entire Swedish-Norwegian War of 1814 when Lt. Colonel Andreas Samuel Krebs leading the Norwegian forces attacked the temporary stronghold set up by the Swedish forces lead by Major General Carl Pontus Gahn.
