St. Mary's Cathedral, Tokyo

St. Mary's Cathedral (東京カテドラル聖マリア大聖堂 Tōkyō Katedoraru Sei Maria Daiseidō) is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tokyo. It is located in the Sekiguchi neighborhood of Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan. The original wooden structure, constructed in 1899 in the Gothic style, was destroyed during the air raids on Tokyo during World War II. The present church, designed by Kenzo Tange, was completed in 1964.

Wakeijuku

Wakeijuku (和敬塾) literally meaning A Place to seek Harmony and Respect, is an all male dormitory located in the Mejirodai neighborhood in the Bunkyō ward of Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1955 by Kisaku Mayekawa, philanthropist and founder of Mayekawa Manufacturing Company, Wakeijuku has been the home of students of Japanese universities for more than forty years, including nearby Waseda University.

Noma dojo

Noma Dojo (野間道場 Noma Dōjō) is a privately owned kendo training hall, or dojo, located in Tokyo's Bunkyo ward close to Gokoku-ji. The original Noma Dojo was established in 1925 by Seiji Noma, founder of the Kodansha publishing house, but demolished by the company in late 2007 and replaced with a modern training hall in a neighbouring office building. The original hall had long been one of the most celebrated kendo dōjō in Japan.

Japan Women's University

Japan Women's University is the oldest and largest of private Japanese women's universities. The university was established in 20 April 1901 by education reformist Jinzo Naruse . The university has around 6000 students and 200 faculty. It has two campuses, named after the neighborhoods in which they are located: Mejirodai (目白台) in Bunkyō, Tokyo, and Nishi-Ikuta (西生田) in Tama, Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. There are associated schools from kindergarten through senior high school.

Orugoru no Chiisana Hakubutsukan(オルゴールの小さな博物館) is a museum of self-playing musical instruments, located in Bunkyo-ku in Tokyo. It houses the private collection of Yoshihito Namura. The museum was the first of its kind in Japan when it opened in May 1983. The current building was erected in 2003. "Orugoru no Chiisana Hakubutsukan" offers an overview of the development of mechanical musical reproducers which were made from the end of the 18th to the 20th century.

Shin-Edogawa Garden is a Japanese garden located near the Kanda River in Bunkyō, Tokyo. The name means New Edo River Garden. The reason is that the Kanda River around the place was called Edo River until 1965. Formerly the second home of Hosokawa, the head of the Kumamoto domain at the end of the Edo Period, the premises later became the main residence of the Hosokawa family.
