Isasumi Shrine
is a shrine located in Aizumisato, Fukushima, Japan. Isasumi was designated as the chief Shinto shrine for the former Iwashiro province. From 1871 through 1946, Isasumi was officially designated one of the Kokuhei Chūsha, meaning that it stood in the mid-range of ranked, nationally significant shrines. Although not backed by historical records of any accuracy, there is a belief that the name of the place (Aizumisato) is derived from this shrine.
