Tobata-ku, Kitakyūshū
Tobata-ku, Kitakyūshū is a ward of Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Japan. It is the smallest ward of Kitakyūshū city at 16.66 km². The population was 64,330 as of the national census in 2000.
Kyushu Institute of Technology
Kyushu Institute of Technology is one of the 87 national universities in Japan. Located in Fukuoka Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, it is dedicated to education and research in the fields of science and technology. It is often abbreviated to KIT and sometimes to Kyutech. The founder was Matsumoto Kenjiro, second son of Yasukawa Keiichiro, and the links with the Yaskawa Electric Corporation (founded in 1915) remain strong to this day.

Wakamatsu-ku, Kitakyūshū is a ward of Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Japan. It has an area of 67.86 km² and a population of about 88,594 (national census, 2000). Important facilities include: Green Park, Ecotown recycling area, Gakuen Toshi academic area, and Hibiki container terminal (opened on April 1, 2005). A new underwater tunnel is being constructed in 2005-6 between Tobata and Wakamatsu wards to link the Hibiki container terminal with Kokura.

Yahatahigashi-ku, Kitakyūshū is a ward of Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Japan. It is the second smallest ward in Kitakyūshū after Tobata ward at only 36.36 square kilometres. Residents have a very high average age, one of the highest in Japan. The population was 77,077 at the end of September 2003.
Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyūshū
Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyūshū is a ward of Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Japan. It covers 83.04 square kilometres, and had a population of 260,318 at January 1, 2005. The ward contains JR Kurosaki Station, and JR Orio Station on the Kagoshima Main Line, with several schools and universities nearby. It is chiefly a residential area, bounded by the Onga river in the West.
Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art
The Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art is located in Tobata-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Designed by Arata Isozaki, it sits on a hill straddling the three wards of Kokura Kita, Tobata, and Yahata Higashi. The museum houses more than 6,000 pieces of art, as well as offering various exhibitions throughout the year. The surrounding park not only offers a pleasant view over Tobata but is also a peaceful oasis with artwork in the form of sculptures scattered throughout.
Tobata Station
Tobata Station is a railway station on the Kagoshima Main Line operated by Kyushu Railway Company in Tobata-ku, Kitakyūshū, Japan. The station opened on December 27, 1902. In 2000 the station was shifted about 200 metres westwards and rebuilt. It is an elevated station with two platforms. Some expresses (tokkyu) stop here.
Kurosaki Station
Kurosaki Station (黒崎駅) is a station in Yahata Nishi-ku, Kitakyushu on the Kagoshima Main Line. It was first opened in 1891. Express trains, including the Sonic, stop here.
Space World
is a theme park in Yahatahigashi-ku, Kitakyūshū, Japan. Created in 1990 by Nippon Steel when the company was downsizing its steel plant in the ward, it is currently operated by Space World Inc. , a subsidiary of Kamori Kankō. Space World offers a variety of attractions, with events held daily, and Space Camp, Japan's first authentic educational space experience facility.
Wakato Bridge
The Wakato Bridge (若戸大橋, Wakato Ōhashi, lit. "Great Waka-To Bridge), is a suspension bridge in Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Japan. Opened on September 26, 1962, it has a 367-meter main span and is two kilometers long. The name of the bridge comes from the characters of the Kitakyūshū wards of Wakamatsu (若松) and Tobata (戸畑) that the bridge connects across Dokai Bay.

It opened in 1957. The company also operates Sarakurayama Slope Car . It links the funicular terminus and the top of the mountain.

Higashi-Orio Station
Higashi-Orio Station was a freight train station on the Kagoshima Main Line of Japanese National Railways (JNR) located in Yahata Nishi-ku, Kitakyūshū, Japan. It served as a station between May 1, 1961 and February 1, 1984. After its discontinuation as a station, the remaining yard continued as Higashi-Orio Shingōjō which still exists as of 2008. Its location was between Kurosaki Station and Orio Station, 1.9 km from the former and 3.3 km from the latter.

Kawachi Dam
Kawachi Dam is a dam in Yahata Higashi, KitaKyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It has been built from stone and mortar to sustain water flow for local steel mills between 1919 and 1927. It was once to be said as "Orient's best dam". As for Minamikawachi bridge, completed in 2006, it is a part of Kitakyushu Seminational Park and is a national industrial heritage since 2007. A mountain hike begins from these sites.

The Yawata Steel Works is a steel mill in Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Construction began in 1896 in order to meet increasing demand from the nation's burgeoning shipbuilding, railway, construction, and armaments industries. The site chosen was the former town of Yahata, now merged into Kitakyūshū, near coal mines and with easy access to the sea.
