Yahatahigashi-ku, Kitakyūshū
Yahatahigashi-ku, Kitakyūshū is a ward of Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Japan. It is the second smallest ward in Kitakyūshū after Tobata ward at only 36.36 square kilometres. Residents have a very high average age, one of the highest in Japan. The population was 77,077 at the end of September 2003.
Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art
The Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art is located in Tobata-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Designed by Arata Isozaki, it sits on a hill straddling the three wards of Kokura Kita, Tobata, and Yahata Higashi. The museum houses more than 6,000 pieces of art, as well as offering various exhibitions throughout the year. The surrounding park not only offers a pleasant view over Tobata but is also a peaceful oasis with artwork in the form of sculptures scattered throughout.
Space World
is a theme park in Yahatahigashi-ku, Kitakyūshū, Japan. Created in 1990 by Nippon Steel when the company was downsizing its steel plant in the ward, it is currently operated by Space World Inc. , a subsidiary of Kamori Kankō. Space World offers a variety of attractions, with events held daily, and Space Camp, Japan's first authentic educational space experience facility.

The Hobashira Cable is the name of Japanese funicular line, as well as its operator. The line climbs Mount Sarakura in Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka. The line does not have any official name. It opened in 1957. The company also operates Sarakurayama Slope Car . It links the funicular terminus and the top of the mountain.
Kyushu International University
Kyushu International University is a private university in Yahata Higashi, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan. The roots of the university can be found in the "Kyushu Law School", which was founded in 1930. The direct predecessor to the school, "Yahata University", was established in 1950, and it adopted the present name in 1989.
Space World Station
Space World Station is a railway station on the Kagoshima Main Line operated by JR Kyushu in Yahata Higashi-ku, Kitakyūshū, Japan. The station serves the Space World theme park.
Kawachi Dam
Kawachi Dam is a dam in Yahata Higashi, KitaKyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It has been built from stone and mortar to sustain water flow for local steel mills between 1919 and 1927. It was once to be said as "Orient's best dam". As for Minamikawachi bridge, completed in 2006, it is a part of Kitakyushu Seminational Park and is a national industrial heritage since 2007. A mountain hike begins from these sites.
