Amatsukominato, Chiba
Amatsukominato, Chiba was a town located in Awa District, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Amatsukominato was formed on February 11, 1955 by the merger of the towns of Amatsu and Kominato. On February 11, 2005 Amatsukominato was merged into the neighboring city of Kamogawa, and thus no longer exists as an independent municipality. In 2003 (the last data available before its merger into Kamogawa), the town had an estimated population of 7,294 and a density of 166 persons per km².
Myōhōshō-ji
Myōhōshō-ji is a Buddhist temple located in the town of Ōtaki in Chiba Prefecture, and is a temple of the Nichiren sect. The temple was given its name in 1253, and is a reference to the opening line of the Lotus Sutra. Myōhōshō-ji is located deep in the Bōsō Hill Range in the center of the Bōsō Peninsula. The temple had fallen into nearly complete ruin by 1904, but was slowly rebuilt starting in 1931 by Nichiren Buddhists.
